Rosehip oil is a true multi-tasking face oil that balances and hydrates the skin, combats fine lines and wrinkles and reduces scars and stretchmarks. It is one of our favorite oils.

Why is it considered so good for these uses? It boasts over 80% essential fatty acid profile (linoleic & gama-linolenic (GLA) as the highest content.  GLA is an omega fatty acid that's excellent for maintaining a healthy skin barrier.

It also contains vitamin C and vitamin A and carotenoids that increase the skin's regeneration capacity.

Additional to its effects on the outermost layers of the skin, rosehip also invigorates activity on the innermost skin cell layers, fibroblasts and cells that produce collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid that are responsible for skin firmness and elasticity.

The name "rosehip" can be slightly misleading. Rosehip seed oil doesn't actually come from a rose or a rosebud. Instead, it is the result of extracting the oils from a small bright-red berry-like seed pod of two types of wild roses—Rosa moschata or Rosa rubiginosa.

Our rosehip oil is extracted without solvents by cold pressing and comes from the one of the highest quality rosehip oil production areas in the mountainous regions of Chile. Sustainably extracting the oil from the small rosehip seeds is an arduous process as a result, high-quality rosehip oil can be pretty pricey.
